Grebe Canal Cruises

Grebe Canal Cruises is a long established pleasure boating business located on the Grand Union Canal at the edge of the Chiltern Hills. We operate public canal trips and accept private charter party bookings. Holiday and day hire boats and a marina with boat painting and slipway services are also available. All our trip boats can be chartered for parties, or for morning, afternoon or evening trips. If you wish we can provide refreshments that can be anything from tea and biscuits to a four-course meal.

Our new Waterside Café opened in April 2004, serving all day breakfasts, teas, snacks and light lunches and is currently open each day from 9am to 3.30pm. The shop has changed buildings and been expanded in size.

Between Easter and September, at weekends and on summer weekdays you can join a public trip to Marsworth and back; some of these trips include a cream tea. Teas, drinks and snacks are available on board. You are strongly advised to reserve your seats in advance by telephone, especially at Bank Holidays and on sunny days.

From time to time during the summer months we operate Sunday lunch cruises and evening dinner cruises that include a welcoming glass of bubbly and a two or three course meal with coffee. Dates of operation will be advertised locally and on this web site. We have a pair of quality narrowboats for self steer holiday hire and short breaks. We will ensure that you know how to operate your boat safely and send you off on an adventure you won't forget!

For a day out with your family or friends we have three little boats for self steer that are really easy to drive for your group of up to ten. A day cruise is a splendid way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary or family outing. Bring a nice picnic and maybe a bottle of wine. The boat has a small kitchen (galley) with running water and a toilet compartment so it is like a home from home.

Our base is a marina with many privately owned narrowboats moored to jetties, a shop and toilet building, a slipway used to draw boats out of the water and a large car park; the whole is more than two acres in area.

We are easy to find, being about 8 miles from Aylesbury, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard. Access to the M1 and M25 motorways is straightforward making us easily accessible to customers from the south coast, Birmingham and London.

There is always something happening at Pitstone Wharf, particularly on sunny summer weekends, so bring the family along and soak in the atmosphere of a working boatyard, or maybe take a ride on one of our frequent public trips.
