UPDATE (23 September 2011): Following on from the confirmation of stoppages on the East side of the canal to allow a third party to remove the Sellers Tunnel we have become aware of a potential discrepancy in the opening hours stated on the internet for Standedge Tunnel over the winter peiod.

Because of the general closure of the East side of the canal from 1st October 2011, there will be no passages through Standedge Tunnel for travel to Huddersfield during the stoppage period.

The trip boat operation at Standedge Visitor Centre will continue as advertised.

We apologise for any confusion caused.
