Restriction: Patch Bridge to Junction Bridge

Waterway: Gloucester & Sharpness Canal »

From 02/02/2012 to 05/02/2012

British Waterways wishes to inform boaters and other users of the canal of the rowing event planned for Saturday 4th February 2012.

For the duration of the event, the canal towpathside edge between Sandfield and Junction bridges will be required for launching boats and mooring in the vicinity will be restricted. Boaters currently or proposing to moor in this area are requested to find an alternative mooring location from Wednesday 1st February until Wednesday 8th February.

On the race day Splatt and Cambridge Arms bridges will be closed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic for extended periods and members of the public are requested to include this when planning their day.

In addition Patch, Fretherne, Sandfield and Junction bridges will be subject to more frequent opening and may also remain open for extended periods.

Notwithstanding this boaters should continue to comply with the traffic signals at each of these bridges.
Saul Junction carpark will be restricted from Thursday 2nd February until Tuesday 7th February to parking for those attending the race.

British Waterways would be pleased
if boaters would kindly plan their journeys on Saturday 4th February to avoid the eventers.
