This short, easy ride takes you through a piece of history, from the impressive Avoncliff Aqueduct, through historic villages of Sharpstone, Farleigh Hungerford and Westwood, before bringing you back to join the Kennet & Avon Canal towpath.

From below the Aqueduct, take the pathway alongside the River Frome westwards towards Sharpstone. When you hit the main road take a left, a right and another right along the minor roads in the space of about 0.5 miles.

Now follow this bendy stretch for another 0.5 miles until you turn left onto the path heading towards Friary Wood (part of the Macmillan Way).

This will bring you alongside Farleigh Castle, where you should turn left onto the A366 into the village and out the other side for about 1 mile, turning left onto a path which takes you to Westwood Manor, owned by the National Trust.

Turning right here onto the minor road, go straight over the crossroads and follow the path by the pub back towards the Kennet & Avon Canal. This will join the canal's towpath once more and turning left on here, will take you back to your starting point.
