This route takes you along some of the most beautiful scenery in the Colne Valley. The route is not only used by cyclists, but also walkers and horse riders. The Colne Valley Trail is a wonderful way to discover the Colne Valley.

The route begins in Uxbridge, by the railway station. After a short cycle ride, you will be travelling along the towpath of the Grand Union Canal, with the River Colne briefly on your left. Shortly after this you will come to Denham Country Park which has car parking, picnic areas and toilets. There is also a tourist information centre nearby.Continue along the towpath and you will come to Denham Quarry on your right where facilities include picnic sites and also parking. You will come off the towpath briefly further along, but then continue back along it.You will also be cycling close to the River Colne once again. As you come close to the end of the trail, you will pass by Rickmansworth Lakes which are owned by Three Valleys Water. There is now a new footbridge and a footpath with access to the lakes for those who would like to see trees such as willow, alder, ash and oak.Carry on along the towpath and you will come to the Batchwork Lock Centre at Rickmansworth where facilities include a gift shop and soemwhere to eat.The route will take you off the towpath to finish by the River Colne. There is a train station nearby and also parking facilities.
