The towpath of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal is in excellent condition for cyclists and walkers alike.

To cycle on the towpaths you will need a British Waterways Cycle Permit. You can download one on the cycling page.

Parking: There are parking facilities along the route.

Public transport: There are train stations along the route.

Waypoints

1. Great Haywood Junction to Hatherton Junction (15.5 miles / 24.8km)

Continue along the towpath for around 5 miles before arriving at Hatherton Junction.

2. Hatherton Junction to Autherley Junction (6.5 miles / 10.4km)

Before you arrive at Autherley Junction, there will be shops and pubs nearby.

3. Autherley Junction to Hinksford Bridge (8.5 miles / 13.6km)

You will travel for about several miles, again passing a number of pubs along the way, before arriving at Hinksford Bridge. There is a pub on the opposite side of the canal if you need refreshments.

4. Hinksford Bridge to Debdale Bridge (9.5 miles / 15.2km)

Continue along the towpath of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, cycling by Kinver and Whittington before arriving at Debdale Bridge.

5. Debdale Bridge to River Severn (Stourport Basins) (7 miles / 11.2km)

As you come towards the River Severn in Stourport-on-Severn, there are many pubs, shops and places to eat.
