This easy route takes you through a variety of Devon landscapes alongside the now designated Country Park of the Grand Western Canal. This 16 miles along and beyond the towpath runs between Tiverton and the Somerset border, near Greenham.It is part of the 250-mile West Country Way cycle route between Padstow and Bristol from SUSTRANS.
Starting at Tiverton follow the brown tourism signs to the canal basin. Otherwise you can hop on from any bridge along the route, or make your way from Tiverton Parkway Station which now has a link joining the canal near Sampford Peverell.Simply follow the canal route east near to Halberton and on through Sampford Peverell. From here the route passes under the A361 near Ashford and Westleigh, ending near Greenham, where the canal splits.

Parking: The route runs by many little villages and minor roads, along which it is possible to park your car.
Public transport: Tiverton is accessible by major roads and rail routes.
