3. Blackness Castle to The Cross, Linlithgow (5 miles / 8km)
At the castle, retrace your steps up hill and out of the village. When you have the option to turn left, go straight on towards Linlithgow. At the T-junction, be careful turning right. After 300m, turn left towards Borrowston and cycle up to the crossroads where you will turn left. When you see the sign for Earl o'Moray Inn, cycle straight on. At the right hand junction, turn right with care and pass through Bonnytoun Farm. Cross the bridge over the M9 motorway and then right again onto the main road. There is a pavement if you would prefer. After 300m, turn left into Springfield Road and, after reaching the top, turn right onto the footpath. Cross the residential road and cycle straight on. At the next residential road, turn right, by the tennis courts, and continue along Capstan Walk. Cycle past Regent Centre and then right at the roundabout into High Street to return to The Cross.
