This section of the route is a forest trail that follows the side of Loch Lochy.

As you leave the B8005 you have two or three cottages on your left then you are into the forest. After a short way the forest on your right disappears as you start to ride along the side of Loch Lochy. You are in wild country now with lovely views all round. The steep hillsides on your left are home to red deer and golden eagles.

There are some small but testing climbs. Don't be afraid to walk if necessary. There are plenty of places to stop for a rest and/or a picnic.

Laggan is a collection of mainly holiday type houses near the end of the loch.
