Fine dining

Something to celebrate?

Gourmands and romantics can enjoy an intimate diner a deux or a memorable night out with friends in one of our elegant waterside restaurants.

To dine in Style in Brunel's Bristol, we recommend:

Loch Fyne (Bristol)

Address: The Old Granary Building, 32 Welsh Back
BS1 4SB

A fine place to dine. Outside, this seafood bar and grill exudes a cheerful charm in three-coloured bricks. Inside, Loch Fyne is an elegant combination of big arched windows, pale wood and aqua coloured tiles. Choose your lobster and watch masterpieces being created in the kitchen. Non fish-lovers have nothing to fear, the chef is equally creative with a full meat and pasta menu.

Aqua

Address: Welsh Back
BS1 4RR
T: 0117 9156060

Soothing blue décor strikes the right note for Aqua – as do the round tables by the windows which fill up quickly every lunch time. The menu is a feast for the eyes, listing variations from monkfish and tiger prawns to Big Bristol Bangers. Small, circular tables are perfect for a romantic diner a deux, larger groups can relax at the long wooden tables towards the back of the restaurant. On sunny days, the spacious terrace overlooking the water is a popular destination.

Glass Boat Restaurant

Address: Welsh Back
BS1 4SP
T: 0117 929 0704

Weddings, receptions and cocktail parties are common occurances on the Glass Boat. But fear not, you don’t have to be full of celebratory zeal to step aboard this stylish floating restaurant. The breakfast menu stops at 9.30 – so early rises only – but lunch and dinner are elegant affairs with white linen, sparkling wine glasses and waterside views. Watch the swans glide by as you dine on stuffed plaice fillet or marinated duck breast, thai noodles and plum sauce.

Severnshed

Address: The Grove
BS1 4RB
T: 0117 925 1212

Another misleading name. The Severnshed is not remotely shed-like. It is in fact, an elegant, pastel-hued restaurant boasting a pretty riverside terrace and enough modern artwork to furnish a small gallery. Huge bunches of flowers, stylish furnishings and a vaulted ceiling confirm its contemporary status. Diners enjoy Breton fish stew, chargrilled tuna au poivre and live jazz on a Sunday night.

Riverstation

Address: The Grove
BS1 4RB
T: 0117 914 4434

Float up the steel staircase and dine in the clouds. The Riverstation is all glass – which means fabulous views over the river and far away. The hoardings outside advertise cocktails, champagne and mezzes, and this is certainly the place to take someone special. Discreet lighting and pale hues make this a soothing – if hip – destination. The lovely waterside terrace and pretty balcony fill up quickly on hot summer nights.

Firehouse Rotisserie Bar & Grill

Address: Harbourside, Anchor Road
BS1 5TT
T: 0117 915 7323

On a beautiful summer’s day and you crave to dine alfresco, the Firehouse Rotisserie is the place to go along Bristol’s waterfront. If the weather is typically English and you want to add some sunshine to your day, then once again, it’s the place to go. A Californian restaurant serving succulent meats, mouth watering salads and tasty pizzas, there’s something for everyone to sink their teeth into.
