Chiswick

The attractive ‘villages’ of West London are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the best of waterside dining.

Take a stroll down the leafy lanes of Chiswick and discover the charms of our favourite pubs and restaurants.

Cafe Rouge (Chiswick)

Address: 227-229 Chiswick High Road
Chiswick, W4 2DW
T: 020 8742 7447

The City Barge

Address: 27 Strand on the Green
Chiswick, W4 3PH
T: 020 8994 2148

No dogs allowed when food is being served – but everyone else is sure of a warm welcome at this friendly pub on the leafy banks of the Thames. Pannelled walls, beams and huddles of dark wooden furniture create a cosy, relaxing ambiance. Good food, good beer and convivial surroundings; it’s all too easy to while away an afternoon in here. There’s only one problem: the charms of the City Barge are known far and wide – beware of arriving too late to enjoy the superb specials.

The Bull's Head (Chiswick)

Address: 15 Thames Road, Strand on the Green
Chiswick, W4 3PQ
T: 020 8994 1204

For a relaxing drink looking out onto the River Thames, you couldn’t go far wrong with a trip to The Bull’s Head. Outdoor seating means you can really make the most of your watery surroundings (as long as it isn’t too cold). On my trip to the Bull’s Head, it was bustling with young suited and booted business bods, although this failed to take away the traditional pub feel to the place.

The Bell & Crown (Chiswick)

Address: 11-13 Thames Road, Strand on the Green
Chiswick, W4 3PL
T: 020 8994 4164

Frequented by young professionals out for a relaxing lunchtime drink throughout the week, The Bell and Crown serves a delicious array of food and has riverside seating so, when the weather agrees, you can sit out and admire the view of the majestic Thames as you enjoy your food. Traditional from the outside, but airy and modern inside, this welcoming pub is great if you want some good quality beer for a lunchtime drink.
