The walk is full of wildlife such as skylarks, herons, cormorants and kingfishers. The Millennium Centre was opened in 1997 and is a visitor and education centre. Eastbrookend Country Park is full of beautiful lakes and grassy areas. Chase Local Nature Reserve is 120 acres if fascinating nature.
The route will take you along footpaths and grass, over several stiles and up and down steps. The terrain is uneven and it is likely that you will come across some muddy patches.

Public transport: The Millennium Centre is a 15 minute walk from Dagenham East Station.

2. Millennium Centre to Chase Local Nature Reserve
This walk begins at the Millennium Centre car park, which is on Dagenham Road. Walk into the Eastbrookend Country Park and along the path, past the visitor centre on your right. Walk straight ahead and you will pass the woodstump with an arrow on it. The path will eventually split and you will need to follow it right, and then turn immediately left, walking past Bardag Lake. At the end of the path walk over the viewing mound and continue along the footpath, arriving at the squeeze gate on your right. Pass through the gate into The Chase Local Nature Reserve, which is managed by the London Wildlife Trust, and turn left. Walk alongside the fence and turn left when the fence does. Walk through the horseradish plants and cross over the stile at the end of the path.

3. Chase Local Nature Reserve to Millennium Centre
Following the steps, head right towards Hooks Hall Pond and walk alongside it. Cross the stile and turn left towards the fence line over a small hill in the distance. Walk to the fence on the left and pass through it onto the road, re-entering the reserve through the fence on the opposite side of the road. The path now follows the River Rom and you will pass two benches on the left before a left turn in the in the break of a fence line. Pass through the turning and take the next left following the boardwalk. Continue along the path, through the gate and follow the path left, walking between the two White Hart Lakes. Follow the path to the road and carefully cross over and re-enter the Millennium Centre car park through the squeeze gate opposite.
