View map »

Walk along Main Road in a northerly direction towards Exeter. Take a right turn into Milbury Lane, cross the road bridge and the railway and then follow the track along a severe U-turn to follow the railway line. Just below the railway bridge bear right and continue through the avenue of trees.

2. The canal towpath and the RSPB nature reserve

When you reach the end of the track, climb the stile and reach the canal towpath. Turn to the right and walk along the canal, enjoying views over the estuary, until you come to a small car park. Leave the canal bank and resume your walk along a narrow road. Much of this area comes within the RSPB Exminster Marshes nature reserve. All possible care should be taken to ensure that the birds are not disturbed.

3. Back to Exminster Marshes

Continue walking past the Swan's Nest pub. Go straight across the roundabout and you will find yourself back in Exminster village
