Circular route from: Royal Oak pub, Wharf Road, Gnosall
This peaceful walk along country lanes and the canal towpath is a pleasant way to experience the canal and its wildlife, as well as enjoying the countryside in this part of the world.
From the 'Royal Oak' pub, turn right onto Wharf Road and then left onto Cowley Lane onto a hedge-lined country lane towards Church Eaton. At Church Eaton turn right onto the Moreton Road, then turn right again at Turnover Bridge (no. 26) to bring you down onto the canal's towpath.
Continue along the canal passing under several bridges and through the cutting and tunnel at Cowley.
Leave the canal at the Boat Inn bridge turning right onto Wharf Road. Walk past the pub on your left and follow the road all the way back to the 'Royal Oak'.
