2. River Aire (West Haddlesey Flood Lock) to Burn Bridge (2.5 miles / 4km)
This route begins at the junction of the River Aire with the Selby Canal, whose banks are often busy with anglers. There will some milestones along the way, so you know how far you are from the River Ouse. The route takes you North from West Haddesley, passing Paper House Farm, the east coast mainline railway bridge and Burton Hall Bridge before arriving at Burn Bridge. This is a good place to stop as The Anchor Burn public house is on the opposite side of the bridge. It serves real ale and food and also welcomes children.

3. Burn Bridge to River Ouse (Selby Lock) (2.5 miles / 4km)
Continue to walk along the towpath of the canal. You will walk by Brayton and under Brayton Road Bridge. Shortly after this you will be walking into Selby and to Selby Lock at the junction with the River Ouse . There is a boatyard by the canal and many pubs to enjoy. There is also a tourist information centre, parking, a train station and shops to enjoy in the market town of Selby.
