This is an easy walk around Cosgrove, following part of the Grand Union Canal. Panels along the route will inform walkers of local wildlife and history.

Getting there

Parking: Walkers are asked to park with consideration.

Public transport: There are regular bus services from Northampton and Milton Keynes into Cosgrove.

Waypoints

1. Buckingham Arm to the Iron Aqueduct

This route begins at the junction of the Buckinghamshire Arm with the Grand Union Canal. Head towards the iron aqueduct (south-east along the towpath). You will need to follow the path over the aqueduct.

2. Iron Aqueduct to Buckingham Arm

From the aqueduct, turn right down the cattle tunnel and underneath the canal. Follow the River Great Ouse to Wolverton Mill and cross the bridge. Follow the footpath north back to Cosgrove. Once you are in Cosgrove, cross the canal using the lock walkway and you will be back where you began.
