Suitable for: This gentle, easy to follow walk is suitable for all the family. There is also a shorter option: leave the towpath at Deepmore Bridge, following the waymarkers and fingerposts back to Long Moll's bridge.

Circular route from: Gailey Wharf

This leisurely walk will take you in a southerly direction along the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal.

This walk can be done as an energetic 12km route or a slightly easier 10.5km route. It is waymarked, simple to follow and mostly level.

Getting there

Parking: Parking is available at Gailey Wharf.

 

Waypoints

1. Along the towpath

For the whole 12km walk, begin by Gailey Top Lock (lock 32). Follow the towpath beneath Gravelly Way Bridge and alongside Calf Heath Wood. Soon you will reach Long Moll's Bridge where there is a wayfinder.

2. To Moat House Bridge

Continue along the towpath, past another wayfinder at Deepmore Bridge until reaching Moat House Bridge.

3. Past Deepmore Farm

At Moat House Bridge, leave the towpath and turn right onto a country lane. This lane will take you past Deepmore Farm all the way back to Long Moll's Bridge.

4. Back to Gailey Wharf

Here re-join the towpath and retrace your steps back to Gailey Wharf.
