Getting there
Parking: Pay and display car parks in Bourne End, or the picnic site car park at Spade Oak.
Public transport: Bourne End is accessible by train from Maidenhead and by bus from Maidenhead and High Wycombe.
Waypoints
From the station car park, follow the path alongside the railway and take the steps down to the Thames Path. Follow the path with the river to your left. You will pass a marina and the historic Spade Oak Wharf.

At a kissing gate, turn right away from the river, following the hedge. Cross the railway with care and take the path past the lake up to Little Marlow.

Continue straight through Little Marlow. Cross the Marlow Road and take the footpath through Wilton Farm and up the farm track. The path will take you through the fields and then into Bloom Wood.

In the wood, you will come to a junction. Here you have the option to turn left for 50m to see some medieval earthworks, before retracing your steps to the main route. On returning to the junction, take the righthand path. At the next junction, take the path that goes off to the right.

The path will take you out of the woods, through more open countryside and then into the village of Fern. Go along the village road until you reach Marlow Road. Cross over and turn left along Marlow Road.

At Well End, turn right onto Coldmoorholme Lane, which will take you through Spade Oak and back down to the Thames Path.
