1. Tiverton to Tiverton Road Bridge (3 miles / 4.8km)
This walk begins in the small town of Tiverton where the Grand Western Canal begins. There is parking close by and somewhere to have a picnic, go for a meal and take a boat trip. As you begin walking along the towpath of the canal, you will be walking through Grand Western Country Park. After 2.5 miles, you will pass the railway aqueduct before arriving at Crownhill Bridge, which you will need to croos to walk on the other side of the towpath. Tiverton Road Bridge is just a short walk on from here. There is parking close to the bridge and also a picnic area.
2. Tiverton Road Bridge to Rock Bridge (2 miles / 3.2km)
From Tiverton Road Bridge, continue along the towpath. It is not too far to Rock Bridge. Near to the bridge is a pub, in case you are ready for some refreshments, and also parking, in case you want to start the route at this point.
3. Rock Bridge to Sampford Peverell (1.5 miles / 2.4km)
Again, this is only a short walk to the next point in the route. Walk along the towpath and you will arrive in Sampford Peverell, a beautiful Devon village. If you would prefer to continue walking, it is 4 miles to the end of the canal in Lowdswells. Tiverton Parkway train station is nearby and just past there is a camp and caravan site, Leonard Moor.
