Two Tings
The 'Two Tings' campaign is now in its second year. The towpath events, run on behalf of British Waterways by Groundwork, are staffed by representatives from partners such as London Cycle Campaign, Sustrans, Living Streets, Safer Neighbourhoods Teams and Borough Officers. The campaign promotes safe use of the towpath and explains that pedestrians have priority over cyclists.
The project is part of an ongoing London-wide British Waterways programme to make towpaths safer, more attractive and accessible to the thousands of people who use them every day. Last year’s Regent’s Canal safety improvements, funded by TfL and British Waterways, saw the launch of the ‘Two Tings’ campaign as well a programme of physical improvements from Victoria Park to Camden Town, including towpath resurfacing, trial chicanes, rumble strips and new signage.
British Waterways hopes that the Two Tings Campaign will make towpath users respect other people using the towpath and the 200-year old historic waterway environment within London.
