Restriction: Wakefield Waterfront, near Wakefield Weir
26 Nov 2008 until further notice
Associated Regional Office: BW Yorkshire
The new bridge will provide 3.66m headroom at normal river level; this will allow any craft to safely pass when the navigation is open, but will not be sufficient when the river is raised during floods.
Craft are not permitted to moor under the bridge as river level rise in flood events may bring them into contact with the underside of the bridge deck.
