  1. Restriction: Bridge 131, Colne Road Bridge, Burnley

    21 Sep 2009 until further notice

    A restriction to through navigation is required on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Bridge 131, Colne Road Bridge due to an unstable 3rd party owned retaining wall on the offside of the Canal. The wall is located slightly east of Bridge 131.

    A barrier has been installed at this location and passing boats are advised to keep to the towpath side.

    After the last passage time, Bingley Five Rise, Three Rise and Field Lock will be locked up until the following morning.

    • The time restrictions have been put in place for user safety and to conserve water.
    • The last passage time will ensure you pass through all the locks between Newlay and Kirkstall Lock before 4.00pm.
    • Staff will usually be in attendance during working hours in the summer months to provide assistance.
    • Overnight mooring is available between Office Lock and Kirkstall and also at Rodley Visitor Moorings.

    Please Note. After 4.00pm all locks between Newlay and Kirkstall Lock will be locked up until the following morning. Non-Stop passage is advised on this section.

    PLEASE NOTE - PASSAGE DURING WINTER
    PLEASE REMEMBER THAT PASSAGE DURING THE WINTER MUST BE BOOKED WITH A MINIMUM OF 72 HOURS NOTICE.
    THIS IS FROM 31 OCTOBER 2011 UNTIL 11 MARCH 2012. SATURDAY/SUNDAY CLOSED.
