Cycling along the Monkland Canal

Although much of the original canal no longer exists, it is possible to cycle along the route of the Monkland Canal from its origin at Calderbank along the North Calder Heritage Trail to Coatbridge Town Centre. From here, you can again pick up the route along the line of the canal towpath as far as Bargeddie.
