1. Advice: Bridge 231 Drinkwaters Bridge

   19 Aug 2010 until further notice

   Associated Regional Office: South East Waterways

   British Waterways have installed a catch mechanism on bridge 231, Drinkwaters Bridge as a trial to assist in the operation of the bridge.
   Users will require a BW Watermate key to operate with full instructions available on-site.

2. Advice: Oxford Canal Perry's Lift Bridge 234

   28 Feb 2011 until further notice

   Associated Regional Office: South East Waterways

   British Waterways have installed a catch mechanism on bridge 234, Perry's Lift Bridge to assist in the operation of the bridge.
   Users will require a BW Watermate key to operate with full instructions available on-site.

3. Advice: Oxford Canal Bridge 233, Wolvercote Lift Bridge

   25 Mar 2011 until further notice

   Associated Regional Office: South East Waterways

   British Waterways will be installing a catch mechanism in April 2011 on Bridge 233, Wolvercote Lift Bridge as a trial to assist in the operation of the bridge.
   Waterscape will be updated once the catch has been fitted.
   Users will require a BW Watermate key to operate with full instructions available on-site.

4. Restriction: North Oxford Canal Hillmorton Locks 2-7

   02 Aug 2011 until further notice

   UPDATE (04 January 2012): We will be carrying out lock repairs at this flight. At all times passage will be possible through one of the parallel locks at each pair. The specific locks which are open will depend on the works being carried out on any specific day.

   Stoppage history:
   

   In order to conserve reservoir stocks along the Oxford Canal the offside tandem locks 3, 5 and 7 will be locked during the hours of 4pm - 9am overnight.

   During the day BW will continue to man the double locks.

   Boaters are asked to double up where possible when using the locks.

   BW apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

5. Advice: Oxford Canal Bridge 221, Aubreys Lift Bridge

   13 Jan 2012 until further notice

   Associated Regional Office: South East Waterways

   Thrupp Lift Bridge is now operated with a push-button control and a BW key is required. Instructions are displayed next to the control panal. A key must be purchased in advance from any of the Waterway offices or online via Waterscape.

   UPDATE (17 January 2012): The works to this bridge will now commence on 13 February 2012. Navigation through Bridge 34 will therefore be possible until this date. ----------------------------------------------------

   Reconstruction and repairs to the bridge abutments below water level to halt and remedy the failure mechanism currently in progress within the brick arch bridge.

Dukes Cut (Oxford Canal) »

1. Stoppage: Dukes Cut Lock 44A

   13 - 17 Feb 2012

   Associated Regional Office: South East Waterways

   A stoppage needs to be carried out to remove debris from the lock, which is causing operational issues.
   The lock will therefore be closed from Monday 13 February to Friday 17 February 2012.

   For access to the River Thames please travel through Isis Lock 46.
