Tunstall's beauty, apart from the reservoir itself, is that it's bordered to the east by ancient woodland. North of Wolsingham in Weardale, it lies in the verdant valley of Waskerley Beck.

Visitors can admire the view from the wildlife trail or the waterside picnic site. Car parking and toilet facilities are on site.
